【摘要】:1.1Thisspecificationcoverstherequirementsforacadmiumcoatingvacuum-depositedonironandsteelbasismetals.Thecoatingisespeciallybeneficialtothoseferrousmetals,heattreatedto46HRCandhigherorhavinganultimatetensilestrengthgreaterthan1500MPa,whereinprotectionagainstcorrosionandappearanceareimportant(seeAppendixX1).1.2Vacuum-depositedproductionitemsarenormallyfreeofhydrogenembrittlement,adangerwhenusingelectroplatingprocessesfordeposition.Vacuumdepositioncanhandlelargehigh-strengthpartsthatcannotbeconvenientlymechanicallyplatedintherotatingbarrels.1.3Thecoatingisprovidedinvariousthicknessesuptoandincluding12956;m(3.1)eitherintheas-depositedconditionorwithasupplementaryfinish(3.2).1.4Thefollowingprecautionarycaveatpertainsonlytothetestmethodsportion,Section9,ofthisspecification:Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyproblems,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
