【摘要】:Identificationofspecificacrylicpolymersinemulsionpaintsisoftendifficultorimpossiblebyinfraredalone.Thisisparticularlytruewhentheacrylicispresentinasmallamountasacomonomerwithvinylacetate,orwhenblendedwithalkydsorotherestersystems.Ifidentificationofanacryliccomponentisrequiredinsuchasystem,itmayoftenbeaccomplishedbygas-liquidchromatographicanalysisofthepyrolyzedpaintfilm.Thepresenceofanumberofotherpolymersmayoftenalsobeconfirmedbypyrolysissincetheyproducecharacteristicandreproduciblepyrograms.Thepyrogramsobtainedfromunknownsamplesvaryincomplexityaccordingtothesamplecomposition.Itisnecessarytoestablishthepresenceorabsenceofasmanycomponentsaspossiblefromastudyoftheinfraredspectraobtainedinthefirstpartofthispractice.Thegas-liquidchromatographyresultsmaythenbeusedtohelpidentifyanyunknowncomponentspresentandtoconfirmidentificationsmadebyinfrared.1.1Thispracticedescribesaprocedureforthequalitativeidentificationinemulsionpaintsofmosttypesofpolymerspresentasmajorcomponentsofthepaintvehicle.LimitationsarediscussedinSectionsand.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
